Earls Court Masterplan

Project type

Urban Regeneration

Date

2023 - Present

Location

London

I've been leading the public realm and landscape for this 44-acre, £10bn mixed use masterplan in Earls Court, since 2023. With 'nature' a core place pillar of the project, biodiversity is a key part of the design with a 4.5-acre public park and over 1000 semi-mature trees proposed to connect people with nature whilst cooling the landscape and buildings and helping to build value.

My role has included:

Managing landscape outputs for the planning submissions

Working with stakeholders (including community and local authorities)

Writing the design briefs for the public realm and infrastructure design team

Consultant procurement;

Setting up partnerships with governmental and local organisations to share knowledge and strengthen the public realm offer

Key statistics:

4000 homes, 100 shops and 2.5m sqft commercial

3 cultural venues to help bring the wonder back to Earls Court as a significant entertainment destination

20-acres (approx. 50% of masterplan) will be public realm

85% BNG and 0.4 UGF planning commitments

1000 + semi-mature trees of climate resilient species

Creation of habitats to connect people with nature and promote health

Resolution to grant given by both boroughs in Dec 25 (Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea / Hammersmith & Fulham) - awaiting decision.
